Debtors and Business Debtors Anonymous

Debtors Anonymous (DA) is a Twelve-Step fellowship for those who struggle with compulsive debting, overspending, or financial disorganization. At Black in Money Recovery™, we offer DA meetings that center the lived experiences of Black people and those of African descent, recognizing the impact of economic trauma, systemic oppression, and generational scarcity.

We also host Business Debtors Anonymous (BDA) meetings for members managing financial recovery within entrepreneurship, freelancing, or self-employment. Whether you're addressing personal finances or business-related stress, our meetings offer a structured, supportive space to rebuild trust with money and with yourself.

"We came to DA to stop incurring unsecured debt and to find a new way of living without debt."

— Debtors Anonymous

What You’ll Find in Our DA and BDA Meetings

Our meetings may include readings from DA-approved literature, personal sharing, tools like the DA Numbers format, and opportunities for service and sponsorship. Members attend to:

  • Share lived experience in a      nonjudgmental, culturally affirming space
  • Use solvency tools to gain clarity and track progress
  • Reflect on compulsive spending and avoidance patterns
  • Receive support from others on a similar financial healing path
  • Build a more grounded, intentional relationship with money—personally or professionally

Want to Learn More About DA and BDA?
